Mudita joined CSRS in her first year as a member and after placing 2nd at the CORE Conference Case Competition took on the position of Director of Operations. In her 3rd year she is now Co-President of the club and is excited to carry out the various events planned for this year!
She is specializing in OMIS and International Business, and plans to use this knowledge in the nonprofit sector. Her goal is to work for an organization where she can raise awareness about climate change and social justice. She currently volunteers with the World Wildlife Fund and encourages everyone to find something they are passionate about work towards it. After all, it starts with you!
Shivani Sharma

Shivani is a 4th year BBA student specializing in accounting, in pursuit of her CA. Shivani’s involvement with CSRS began in 1st year when she submitted an entry to the Video Case Competition, and her strong beliefs in the importance of CSR led her to an executive role as Director of Corporate Relations in her 3rd year. She is now thoroughly enjoying her experience as Co-President, and extremely excited for CORE 2012!
Shivani completed an exchange term at the University of Manchester, and now looks forward to traveling extensively in the future. She aims to increase awareness regarding mental health illnesses, and encourages everyone to take on a cause that’s important to them – “it starts with you.”
Raluca Franciuc

Vice President
Raluca is a 4th year BBA student specializing in accounting and interested in pursuing her CA designation. She joined CSRS in her second year as Director of Corporate Relations after attending CORE 2010 and realizing the true importance of socially responsible practices in today’s evolving business world. She transitioned into a Vice President role, where she chaired the KPMG Consulting Case Competition and is now responsible for overseeing the Corporate Relations team. She has had a great time being a part of CSRS to date and is extremely excited for the CORE 2012 Conference!
Raluca looks forward to continuing her dedication to CSR post Schulich by pursuing volunteer opportunities both locally and abroad.
Sabreen Salman

Director of Internal Communications
Sabreen is a 2nd year BBA student, specializing in accounting and hoping to pursue her CA. Sabreen joined CSRS in her 1st year, taking part in the video competition, and attending all of CSRS’ events, enjoying each and every one. Sabreen is tree hugger who is passionate about women’s rights, equality, and global literacy (and gardening)! Motivated by CSRS’ similar values, Sabreen joined the club in hopes of making a difference, be that small or large with her current position as the Director of Inernal Communications.
In the future, Sabreen hopes travel to various 3rd world countries, teaching children who lack the opportunity of education. She strongly believes that “one spark starts a fire,” hence you should “be the change you wish to see,” as “it starts with YOU!”
Shereen Aly

Shereen is a second year iBBA student who hopes to specialize in economics. Shereen has exhibited an interest in social activism from a young age. CSRS attracted her attention in her first year of studies. She soon became actively involved with the organization as First Year Representative, and is currently a Director of External Communications.
Shereen hopes to pursue a career in international development at an organization such as the United Nations- melding her strong foundation in international business with her passion for world issues and desire to help those in need.

Maryna Batova

Director of External Communications
Maryna is a second year BBA who has her mind set on specializing in accounting and plans to pursue her CA designation. She joined CSRS during her first year after being inspired by the CORE Conference. The message of how important CRS practices really struck a chord with her and ever since then, she has been an avid advocate. She works with Shreen, communicating frequently with external schools to promote the CSR principles, in addition to contacting guest speakers for the CORE conference.
Being a member on such a passionate team has been amazing and has also been a great learning experience. Looking into the future, she sees how increasingly important it is to be a socially responsible corporation and hopes continue to be an influential advocate.
Aized Sethna

Aized is a 3rd year BBA student pursuing a career in Marketing. His journey in CSRS started as a Marketing Director in his 1st year at the Schulich School of Business. He is now the Vice-President of Marketing and hopes to stay within the club up to graduation. Aized is a passionate believer of CSR and the astronomical role it plays in today’s business world.
In his spare time, Aized is an active user of social media and a huge movie critic. In the future, Aized hopes to find a career in the entertainment industry and help change the world through media. Aized portrays the image of a future leader and always strives for consistent excellence in his work.

Livia is in her second year of the BBA program, as well as in her second year of involvement with CSRS. Starting as one of two First Year Representatives, she now fulfills the executive role of Director of Marketing. Having a passion for environmental and social causes, discovering that CSR could infuse them into the business world made her determined to be part of CSRS. Planning to specialize in Marketing, her main focus is to do her part to make business sustainable and proactive in helping create a better world. “It starts with you” – it’s not just a slogan, it’s a mindset that has the power to make any dream achievable.
Abbas Khambati

Abbas is a 2nd year BBA student intending to specialize in Finance and Economics. Abbas joined CSRS in 1st year, actively attending the Symposium and CORE. Since businesses are embedded in the fabric of our society, Abbas believes corporations should play an active role in propagating the values of CSR. Aside from being passionate about responsible conduct in third world countries, Abbas has strong opinions of corporations’ involvement in our political and judicial system. Abbas joined the club in hope to learn more about CSR, while giving back to the business community through his position as Director of Corporate Relations. Abbas strongly believes that we are all part of a greater picture, thus we must all do our parts – It starts with YOU.

Mamta is a 2nd year BBA student specializing in accounting and plans to pursue her CA designation. She joined CSRS as a member in her first year and attended the annual CORE Conference. Through this, she became more familiar with CSRS’s goals of educating the student body about CSR and promoting industries that aim to integrate CSR practices in their business environment. As Director of Corporate Relations, Mamta hopes to bring on board partners that best promote CSR practices, create a positive change within their environments and are dedicated to sustainability as a long-term strategy. Mamta looks forward to using the skills and knowledge acquired in her time on council to continue promoting CSR throughout her career in her local business environment.
Shawn Brar

Director of Corporate Relations
Shawn is a fourth year BBA student pursuing his CA designation. He joined CSRS in his third year as a Director of Corporate Relations. Shawn is a firm believer in social responsibility and the importance of building a strong community. As he continues with his studies, Shawn is dedicated to making the world a cleaner, greener, and friendlier place to call home.
Outside of his role with CSRS, Shawn hopes to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. Last year, Shawn participated in Movember, by sporting a thick and lustrous mustache during the month of November to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Canada. Shawn plans to continue his participation in Movember this year, using his mustache to (metaphorically) rake in even more money for the cause.
Balpreet Singh

Balpreet is currently in his third year, specializing in accounting and looking to pursue a CA. Having worked for a not-for-profit organization for the past three years, Balpreet enjoys taking on roles that allow him to raise awareness to social causes. This passion for creating positive change brought him to CSRS, where he is currently Director of Operations.
Responsible for planning CORE 2012, Balpreet enjoys all levels of strategic thinking. With Tetris and Sudoku being two of his favourite games, he firmly believes that every little contribution adds to a greater whole – “it starts with you.”
Julia Huang

Director of Operations
Julia is a second year student, hoping to pursue her CA designation. As the Director of Operations, Julia is excited to engage in her role of executing the CORE 2012 Conference.
Having played an active role in social responsibility in the past, via initiatives such as raising funds for Heart and Stroke Foundation and regular involvement with Canadian Blood Services, Julia was naturally inclined to attain a position on CSRS. This past summer, Julia spent her time in Kenya teaching English and Math at a public school, which broadened her perspective on the impact of CSR globally. Continuing with her passion for social work, she hopes to continue engaging in CSR initiatives in her career.

Rasha is a fourth year BBA student, with a specialization in accounting and intending to pursue her CA. As the Director Finance, Rasha is responsible for maintaing the financial records of CSRS and working alongside the team to plan events to ensure that the CSRS experience is one that is unparalleled to!
Rasha recently completed an exchange term at Rouen Business School in France, where she was able to widen her scope as a global and culturally aware leader. Echoing everything that CSRS upholds, Rasha is a strong advocate of women’s education in developing country, and hopes to integrate her business acumen to help increase women literacy rates in the future; and at the end of the day.. “It all starts with you”
Jawad Shujaatali

Jawad is a 1st year BBA student, hoping to specialize in either accounting or corporate advisory. CSRS sparked Jawad’s interest because of the unique opportunity to learn about a side of business seldom focused on, but a side which is of the utmost importance in the contemporary marketplace. He enjoys being able to make a difference, within the walls of the school and beyond, and hopes that CSRS will help him do so.
Jawad is an avid fan of travelling, and hopes for the opportunity to participate in an exchange in his upper years.

Mariam is a first year BBA student currently exploring the many fields of business. Being a true believer that change comes from within us all, Mariam is very passionate and vocal about a variety of environmental and social causes. She hopes to use her enthusiasm to raise awareness of social responsibility in business. She believes that through education, we can all learn to create a socially responsible change in the corporate environment. Hyunsoo Lee

Director of Information Technology
Hyunsoo is a 2nd year, BBA student, interested in specializing in Marketing or Accounting. Having been involved with the “Youth Philanthropy Initiative” and the “World Wildlife Fund” in the past, Hyunsoo was immediately drawn to CSRS in her first year. After attending the CORE conference and some of the other events hosted by CSRS, Hyunsoo was able to gain a better understanding about the meaning, importance, and significance of CSR.
As the Director of IT, Hyunsoo plans to start a video series about CSR to represent CSRS and use it to communicate effectively with rest of the Schulich community.
